Whats New

We have recently purchased a New Electric Massage Table  at Mullum Integral Health.

Stability is one of the most important features of the electric massage table. It is not unusual for clients, especially those new to massage, to feel anxious and unsupported by the classic wood structures of most massage tables.

The electric versions are made from metal, and are supported by a single thick pedestal in the center of the bed. Many clients notice that the bed remains stable while he or she climbs onto or off of the bed, as well as during the massage itself.

The electric massage table also allows the therapist to adjust the height of the bed during the massage to accommodate specific techniques.

To arrange a time for your next massage please give us a call,  and remember our Therapists are also available for appointments on Saturdays.

We would like to welcome Kate (Massage Therapist) to our team of practitioners.

I decided to study remedial massage after a knee injury that originally occurred 6 years ago. It was during the rehabilitation process that I realised how little I knew about the musculoskeletal system and how my body functioned. Over the course of studying my diploma I have gained a thorough understanding of the body and how to treat specific patterns of muscle tension and pain in the body.

As a massage therapist I am aware that every person is different and there is a unique set of circumstances surrounding any trauma in the body. I am also aware that emotional and dietary/lifestyle factors are inherently linked to a person’s state of health. What works for someone might not work for someone else.

During a session I incorporate a variety of techniques into my massage-primarily Deep Tissue and Remedial, Trigger point therapy and Myofascial release (Connective tissue massage), Muscle Energy Technique, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Therapeutic (Swedish) and Reflexology points.

Working as a massage therapist is a very rewarding profession and it is my intention to continue to study other health modalities to enhance my practice. I am continually learning from the people I work with, and it is their stories that fuel my passion to assist others along the road to better health.

Kate is available at the clinic on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The team at Mullumbimby Integral Health would like to thank you for your ongoing support in the past and throughout this time of change.  We wish you a life full of energy and void of pain and we look forward to assisting you on your path with our  integrated approach.

 Adults need at least:

2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity (i.e., brisk walking) every week and
muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest,  shoulders, and arms).
